What is a food tour?

A guided walking tour with a focus on the city’s culinary culture.

What do I need to bring?

Yourself and an appetite! Comfortable walking shoes and you may want to bring a bag for additional goodies you buy along the way.

Are there additional fees during the tour?

All costs are taken care of in the tour, any additional purchases on your own account. If your guide has shown you a good time then a tip to them is always welcome.

Where do we meet to start the tour and end the tour?

Once you have booked your tour we will send you a confirmation with all details on where to meet. We begin and end at different locations which are walking distance from each other and both in the city.

Are tickets refundable if I cancel?

All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. Tickets can be transferred to another guest.

Dietary restrictions should I still come?

You definitely should still come we will do our best to meet all your dietary needs. Please just let us know well in advance.

How much food is included?

More than enough for lunch and a snack after. We do not suggest any big dinner plans.

What if it rains?

The tour is held come rain or shine. Bring your own umbrella and we will do our best to keep you as dry as possible!

Are cameras allowed?

Of course! Cape Town has been voted as one of the beautiful city’s in the world. We encourage you to take pictures while on your tour.

Can Children participate in the tour?

We welcome children of all ages provided they are accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. As this is a walking tour, a stroller is recommended for those younger children. Please keep in mind there is a lot of walking and standing so asses your children first. There is no charge for children aged 5 years and under.

How much walking is involved?

Over the approximate 4 hours you will walk around 4kms (2.4miles). At most of the locations there is seating and restrooms.

What language are tours conducted in?

All tours are conducted in English but our tour guides speak a variety of languages to explain better in your home tongue if need be.

Should I eat before the tour?

Generally our tours begin around 11am. We recommend that you have a regular breakfast but come hungry! You will want room to be able to taste everything.

Please do, we encourage you to buy from the local eateries and stores along the way.
